Wonder what HBS does?

This is the short list:

• Manage, grow & appropriate the Jimmy "T-99" Nelson Scholarship
• Blues 2.0 - first of its kind in the nation, a for-credit 9 week mini course, in partnership with the Clear Creek School District
• Hopkins House Community Service Projects - facelift & minor repair projects for aging musicians
• Keep blues music alive by putting live BLUES MUSIC in front of people who would not normally see it!
• Put out a weekly Blues Blast newsletter via email with a view of the Blues scene
• Keep our extensive Blues Music and Event Calendar updated and current
• Sponsor a band and solo/duo act to represent Houston in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis each January. In 2018, Houston's own Keeshea Pratt Band won FIRST PLACE beating out 140 other blues society competition winners!
• Support "Blues In Schools" at local schools
• Host a monthly jam the LAST THURSDAY of each month at the Big Easy Social & Pleasure Club on Kirby Drive
• Help host a youth jam
